2. The President reported that Mr. Laprack had informed him that he would probably be able to attend on Monday at 10 a.m., to be examined; but that he was not anxious about it.

3. An answer received from Andrew Shortrede, Esq., to a letter from the President, was also read. The letter was ordered to be entered on the Minutes, and is as follows: -

My Dear Sir,

I am going to the Chinese Joss House, and may not be able to attend at the sitting of the Commission. But I suppose this is not the last day, and any evidence I can give is not so important that it cannot stand over for a day or two.
